Question
How do you install and configure Lotus Notes® Traveler 8.0.1.x on the same server as Lotus® Sametime® 8 or Lotus Quickr 8.1?

Answer
The following steps assume that you have already installed and configured Domino Server 8.0.1 and are running Sametime Server 8 or Quickr® Server 8.1. Once the Domino server and Lotus Sametime or Lotus Quickr servers are configured properly, follow these steps to install and configure Lotus Notes Traveler.
  • Stop the Domino Server
  • Install Lotus Notes Traveler being sure to UNSELECT THESE OPTIONS:
    • Configure HTTP Server on startup.
    • Set client download website as home page for this server.
  • Open for edit /servlet.properties and verify/update these parameters:
    • servlet.traveler.code=com.lotus.sync.servlet.TravelerServlet
    • servlets.startup=traveler (add traveler to existing statup list)
  • Open for edit the notes.ini file and verify this parameter:
    • JavaUserClasses=\traveler.jar (add this path to existing class path)
  • Open the Server Document for this server and verify these settings:
    • Internet Protocols Tab --> Domino Web Engine Tab --> Session Authentication: If this value is disabled, enable MSSO per the Quickr 8.1 Infocenter
    • Internet Protocols Tab --> Domino Web Engine Tab --> Java Servlet Support: Set to Domino Servlet Manager
    • Internet Protocols Tab --> HTTP Tab --> Maximum requests per persistent connection: Set to a value of 100 or larger.
    • Internet Protocols Tab --> HTTP Tab --> Input Timeout: Set to a value of 75 or larger.
  • Start the Domino Server.

At this point Lotus Notes Traveler should be functional and the previous Lotus Sametime or Lotus Quickr configuration should be unchanged. If you installed the website component for Lotus Notes Traveler, users will be able to access the client download website at http(s):///traveler/index.html.
