I attended a couple of Lotusphere Europe and they were great. Berlin was the best.

Lotusphere comes to you is 4 hour event, I really doubt it can subsitute 5 day event, technicall sessions. Jump Start Sessions.

Lotusphere come to You is NOT for GEEKs, it is for people who are to lazy to open notes.net.

When Lotusphere COMEs to You will come to my country my company will be on Domino 8.5,and potentially all clients on 8.5. no news for me there.

I was asked for my opinion on this a few months ago and at this stage, I think a Lotusphere Europe is a bad idea.

LS Europe always has to deal with different cultures, positions, languages and regions. I think a better (read less sales) version of LCTY would work much better in a roadshow format accross Europe.

I think the whole point of LotusSphere is that it's in DisneyWorld. It wouldn't be nice to have it anywhere else, at least I would not go there. For the price it costs, I want to be one week in paradise, and only DisneyWorld can offer that :)

If you want your company to pay for LS, CUT COST indeed is the showstopper this year. But it is not only the money. I have one year to save enough € to pay the costs. But I need at least 7 days of holiday to attend LS. As we have a plant shutdown for 4 weeks now, all my rest holiday is gone now.

LS Europe? I do not think that we need this. It would be great to feel the spirit of LS, but it does not make any difference for me if I have to travel a few hours more. And why take the copy ( LS Europe ) when you can have the original?

Over the last years (in Germany) we had two great events for administrators and developers ( AdminCamp and EntwicklerCamp). In addition there was ILUG. All events are very valuable. Even in Germany there were speakers who also had session at LS. ( N. Heidloff, P. Mooney, Bill Buchan, Ben Langhinrichs, Bruce Lill and many more )

LSCTY ... Well, too short and too much sales driven.

DNUG ... Attended once, never again.

Perhaps, LS is some kind of pilgrimage; you have to attend once in your Lotus Notes & Domino life. And I hope that I can make it next year. In the meantime I feel well informed by attending the conferences mentioned and by reading all the great blogs in the worldwide Notes community.
