Private technotes is a real PAIN

    Vladislavs Tatarincevs  1 December 2008 14:04:52
Just had one case, when HTTP server stop serving a requests on Domino servers, when agents are triggered on a server.

Searched IBM's support database, found some similar cases, but they didn't help.

Collegue of mine,  submitted this request to IBM Support, and got what?    Yes,  Private Technote.
    This technote described our problem.

It Would be nice if Private technotes after let say 10, or 100 HITS ( threshold may vary) become PUBLIC,

It is OK for me that the will be "Under investigation" or "there is no plans to address this issue" but at least:
    1. I don't spend time trying to make software work if there is a bug
    2. I can focus on a workaround
    3. I don't spend time of IBM Support people, if they have more time they can focus on other things

Technotes can be private for a number of reasons.

    1. Currently under technical/proof review.

    2. Not yet submitted for review or rejected review.

    3. Contains information that is IBM internal.

Tech notes have a higher standard of quality review then say the domino wiki.

You can request your support engineer make the tech note public if you feel it will help others.

    Hi Vlad,

I would love to have access to this kind of infos but like Simon said you cannot publish infos if it's not fully reviewed.

With certain levels of access, you can have a replica of the knowledge base that contains Technotes that are still in draft mode.
